And what about rootbeer floats with ice cream. Yum yum.

It's great. This just gave me an idea though. Get a keg of rootbeer, empty about 1.5 gallons out of it. Replace with Yager, and let the night begin.

ew'w'w'w'w'w'w'w'w''w'w, I guess I'm going to be an odd ball and ruin the fun. I can't stand root beer to drink. It just leaves a narsty after taste in your mouth. I can have a root beer float once in a great while. In saying that it can only have a tiny bit of root beer. The less of the crap the better. hehehehe smiles.

When I was a child, we had rootbeer popcicles. I loved them. I loved the rootbeer barrels, but I never had the suckers. There's a place that sells mexican food. I find the sweet a really nice contrast.

What is rootbeer anyway? It might be an American thing because i never heard of it in the UK.
And also what is the difference between these barrels and suckers?
Sorry if i sound ignorant.

Post 9 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Tuesday, 12-Sep-2006 13:26:07

barrels are hard candies, suckers are candy on a stick.
rootbeer is a soda, and a flavor, and.., I don't really know how to explain it

Post 10 by Grace (I've now got the ggold prolific poster award! wahoo! well done to me!) on Tuesday, 12-Sep-2006 13:31:22

Rootbeer as I know it is a soda pop say like Pepsi or 7-Up only the flavor/name is Rootbeer. I think originally it came from a herb...would need to check/do research to verify.

I know this is "off topic" and I wonder why spacing like in "mix-up" double an extra double space between thots in Post #10. *?

Thanks for the information.
I thought it was an alcoholic drink.
Sounds very interesting. I will have to check it out if i visit the states one day.

Hi, all! Grace, thanks for posting the A&W info. I'm surprised they didn't get mentioned yet on here. I love Rootbeer, but A&W most of all. I will drink other brands, but nothing tops A&W. One of my frends calls me a "roobeer snob." Maybe. LOL. But I grew up with an old-fashioned A&W rootbeer stand close to my ouse, where you could get Rootbeer out of the tap and into a frosted mug. Oh, yummy. So ever since then, nothing quite compares.

I like barks the best. Although I only drink root beer ocasionally. A and W is okay. I remember my grandfather used to drink another brand of root beer that started with an h but I don't remember the freaking brand name right now! I don't like root beer barrels although I do like the little RC cola bottle candies. Haven't had those in ages. RC cola isn't bad either but I'm veering off topic now.

...and to Nikos,

If you ever happen by the United States for an A&W...

I think it would be neat if the A&W were in a location near to where

I could share in a delightful cooling Frosty Mug of the Delicious RootBeer with you.

POST SCRIPT:

Last Time I was at Life-Flo where future Home of the,

"Woodzier Wilderness Walk" is to be located/in progress...

There is an A&W in the somewhat near-by location.

Nikos, the A&W could be a nice rest stop after The Woodland Trail Walk/Listening to the various Song Birds...

I know I am way off topic only Nikos, maybe you could help me design some sort of a Braille/Large Print Work-sheet~~Check-off sheet of what birds are in area given their song... just an idea for you to think on...(CG)

Hi, all! Grace, good to meet another Rootbeer snob! The A&W stands are the best, but when you don't have one of those, the bottle sand cans of A&W are good. I love driving restaurants and pizza places nuts when they tell me they have Rootbeer as a soft drink, because I ask what brand it is. LOL! Most of the time they don't know, and have to look. But I really don't like Barks (no offense to the poster who does), so I ask. I had a a fairly good version of Rootbeer at a micro-brewery once. They were a restaurant that brewed their own beer, and so they also made their own Rootbeer. It was good, but still not quite as good as A&W.

OK, so here's my next question. How did the drink get the name Root Beer? Did it used to be made from roots? Does it have something in common with beer? Does anyone know the answers to these questions? Grin.

...A&W really tastes suburb!

In England there is something called jinja beer or something. I was wondering if it is the same thing?

Post 22 by Grace (I've now got the ggold prolific poster award! wahoo! well done to me!) on Friday, 03-Nov-2006 7:54:21

Hmm Good Question..Maybe someone who has the answer will logg on..smile
